Application Process for New Families

We will begin accepting applications on Tuesday, February 6th for the 2024-2025 school year.

  1. Call the school office to inquire about openings. (775) 782-7811
  2. Complete Application Form and submit to school office along with $30 application fee for each student. This fee is nonrefundable and covers the cost of application processing and placement testing. Completing the application does not guarantee enrollment.
  3. The principal will call to schedule a tour and interview (both parents & student).
  4. The principal will call to schedule a student placement test.
  5. You will be notified of application acceptance or non-acceptance. If accepted, we will send you enrollment information.

Re-Enrollment Process for Existing Families

  1. A parent should log into the family Gradelink Account. Select the Re-Enroll tab and complete the online Re-Enrollment forms for each student.
  2. Submit enrollment & book fees to the school office.

Nondiscriminatory Policy
The Grace Christian Academy school admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to the students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs and athletic and other school administered programs.

Grace Christian Academy offers two payment plan options.

  1. Pay-in-Full Option: Pay the full account balance directly to Grace Christian Academy by August 1st.
  2. Monthly Payment Option: The account balance is paid monthly August thru May via the FACTS Tuition Management Plan. This option is an automatic payment plan made through your checking or savings accounts. Just click on the link to begin the agreement to authorize the automatic monthly payments on either the 5th or the 20th of each month. There is a yearly fee per family to set up payments with FACTS. Scholarship Grant (AB165)

AB165 created the Nevada Educational Choice Scholarship Program which became effective July 1, 2015. This program allows a family in Nevada to apply for annual scholarships of up to $8,469 per student. It grants K-12 students that would like to attend a private school of their choice the ability to offset tuition cost including textbooks, supply fees and transportation to and from the school. The student must also be a member of a household whose annual income is within 300% of the designated federal poverty guidelines. You can apply to one or more scholarship organizations. If you receive approval from more than one, you will need to choose the one that best meets your family’s financial needs.

Enrollment Standards

MINIMUM ENTRANCE STANDARDS (Standards for all grades are cumulative)

Kindergarten (5-6 year olds)

  1. Hold and use a pencil correctly
  2. Write name/recite alphabet/count to 10
  3. At least five years old by September 30

1st Grade (6-7 year olds)

  1. Use scissors, tie shoes, zip coat
  2. Write/name/sound-out alphabet
  3. Read simple three/four letter words
  4. Write the numbers 0 to 30
  5. Count by 1’s to 50, by 5’s and 10’s to 100
  6. Recognize/name 1 & 2 digit numbers

2nd Grade (7-8 year olds)

  1. Fluently read & comprehend Frog & Toad are Friends
  2. Print alphabet (upper & lower case)
  3. Write a complete sentence
  4. Quickly add and subtract 1 & 2 digit problems

3rd Grade (8-9 year olds)

  1. Fluently read Charlotte’s Web
  2. Answer comp. questions in complete sentences
  3. Add/subtract problems with borrowing & carrying
  4. Read a clock & count money
  5. Label parts of speech: subject & verb
  6. Master 2nd grade math concepts

4th Grade (9-10 year olds)

  1. Fluently read The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe
  2. Answer comp. questions in complete sentences
  3. Label parts of speech: subj, adj, adv, prep, op, & verb
  4. Master third grade math concepts
  5. Answer simple multiplication/division problems

5th Grade (10-11 year olds)

  1. Fluently read & summarize The Push Cart Wars
  2. Answer comp. questions in complete sentences
  3. Master fourth grade math concepts
  4. Able to spell 5th grade words
  5. Label parts of speech: subj, adj, adv, prep, op, & verb

6th Grade (11-12 year olds)

  1. Fluently read & summarize The Hobbit
  2. Answer comp. questions in complete sentences
  3. Label parts of speech: direct and indirect object
  4. Master fifth grade math concepts
  5. Shows organizational skills
  6. Show sense of independence (self-motivation)
